I am truly honored to be entrusted with taking care of your wedding ceremony! There is nothing better than love, and I am wholeheartedly passionate about relationships, weddings, and marriages.

I love working with awesome couples of all types, and I believe there needs to be a good fit and partnership between the wedding officiant and the couple. For that reason, you should be aware of the beliefs and principles upon which I stand. When it comes to weddings and marriages, here are the tenets that I believe in:

  • AUTONOMY—I believe EVERY couple has the constitutionally protected right to get married on their own terms. This means that all people (regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or other defining traits) have the right to marry.

  • UNITY—I believe in the power of a healthy marriage. A marriage is not only the union of two individuals who love each other; it is also the union of families, the union of past experiences and histories, the union of hearts and minds pointed in a single direction. A marriage is the most important team you will ever join.

  • JOY—I believe that we were put on this earth to experience all the joy and pleasure possible. (If you’re not enjoying life, then what’s the point?) This also goes for your wedding and your marriage. Even though weddings and marriages can both be lots of work, the amount of happiness should significantly outweigh the stress and obstacles. I believe in the overabundance of joy!

Your wedding day is a momentous occasion! As your celebrant extraordinaire, my goal is to make sure your ceremony will be stress-free and filled with as many happy memories as possible!

About Me

I believe that all of my life experiences have led me to this part of my life journey as a wedding officiant. I am a writer, an educator, a couples counselor, and a pianist. My training and education in these four areas all combine to create your unique and awesome wedding!

  • I have always loved writing, and this led to a college degree in English with a concentration in poetry and creative writing. I am a poet and published author of the award-winning book Joker to King (2016 grand prize winner of the Southern California Book Festival). I am currently completing a book on the connection between emotional mastery and healthy relationships. My writing background is a large component in helping to tell your special love story and crafting your unique wedding ceremony!

  • I am a passionate advocate for mental health! I am currently an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist working closely with couples to heal their relationships. In 2020, I was certified as a personal development coach, and in 2024, I completed certification as a SYMBIS premarital facilitator. As your premarital counselor, I lead sessions that help you and your partner build the foundation for your happy marriage!

  • I am a writing professor as well as a professor of education. My doctorate degree is in education with a concentration in the teaching / learning process. My specialization is in the area of cognitive liminality—helping people learn and succeed in the midst of transitions (transition from high school to college, transition from childhood to adulthood, etc.) This background in liminality is important for you and your partner as you transition from singlehood to couplehood, and transition from thinking individually to thinking as a married couple.

  • I started taking piano lessons as a child, and I have been playing piano ever since. It is the most beautiful instrument, and the right piano melodies can add a magical atmosphere to almost any environment. My specialties are popular love ballads and jazz standards. Add the magic of live piano to your special day!
